WASHINGTON, DC, PEACE SUMMIT
ON WARRI CRISIS July 24, 1999
REPORTS
Following the Peace Summit and its
unsatisfactory end, there was a long delay in the issuance of an official
report by the two Conveners. Meanwhile, the Urhobo Delegation issued its
own report of the Congress. The Ijaw and Urhobo Delegations also issued
a joint communiqué on a meeting they held after the three-ethnic-group
Summit had adjourned. Subsequently, after a long unexplained delay the
two Conveners issued their report two months later on September 24, 1999.
Then the Itsekiri Delegation issued its own report. The reader is asked
to note the dates of these reports. They are presented here for the sake
of historical fullness.
