Chief Dafinone had an early relationship with Urhobo Historical Society. He attended Fisrt UHS Annual Conference and gave its Keynote Address. He participated eagerly in the academic sessions, especially on themes relating to nature of leadership in Urhobo affairs. He received an award at the Closing Ceremony for his services to Urhobo Historical Society.
